UMBRELLA - UNDAILY Episode 177

With today's Gospel, we stand at the center of an epochal event. Jesus calls the twelve apostles. We see a team here that will soon ignite a fire that will burn continuously for the next two thousand years. Jesus even anoints Judas, who, like the two thieves crucified with the Messiah, takes his destined place in the history of salvation for you, me, and all humanity. The apostles' mission is to preach the Gospel, educate, heal the sick, and build and manage the Church, but as trustees, not appropriating its spiritual heritage or multiplying material goods. As Christians, we are called to the same mission. You don't need to wear a cassock or collar to praise Christ, spread the Good News, and share good fruits with others. Jesus is calling!
